- 26 September - Diddy Gala - Small Squad Big Hearts
Slough and Eton kicked off the season at the Bracknell and Wokingham Diddy Gala. This 13 years and under team was the smallest at the competition with only 16 swimmers. Most of who had the task of swimming up different age groups. The gala kicked off with a win for the dolphins in the girls 11 and under Medley consisting of Laura Saunders, Emma Admans, Jamie Hertel and Tilly Simmonds. Other Victories included Nicol Stevens (50 back), Ed Williams leading as team captain for the gala (50 Free and 50 Fly), Under 10 Girls Medley and Free Events (Nicole, Kristy, Abigal and Millie) and Jamie (50 Back). As the gala went on the squad stuck together well realising that it was more of a training session due to the small size of the squad. Our tiredness began to show in towards the end of the gala and a number of swimmers commented that they intend to do more training sessions over the next season. Everybody performed really well from Ed our only 13 year old swimmer to young Dylan aged 8. Special thanks to Harry and Ben who swam every event. Fantastic performances by Laura; who was asked to substitute a teammate who could not make the event, swimming a massive 8 events. Squad: Emma Admans, Elise Bell, Millie Bell, Abigail Fricker, Jamie Hertel, Olivia Kelly, Kristy Robinson, Laura Saunders, Tilly Simmonds, Nicole Stevens, Jeremy Chorley, Ben Harris, Harry Laflin, Dylan Philpott, Harrison Saunders and Edward Williams
