Report on day 2 of County Championships
Slough and Eton Dolphin SC enjoyed a fantastic day at the county championships on Saturday evening.
The evening started with the 11/u Relays. The girls medley relay team Kym Charlett, Emma Croker, Jade Pithers and Julia Jemielity all swam pb times to finish in 4th place. The boys team all performed superbly. Oskar Kowalski led the way with a fabulous back stroke leg, Harry Good did an amazing 2 sec pb to maintain the lead, Connor Lacey swam a very solid fly leg with a 2 sec pb to hand over to Phin Lyman who held off a stern challenge from his closest rival to secure Gold.
The girls followed this good form in the individual 200m medley. There were pb performances by Kym, Jade who came 4th, Marianna Geaney and Sophie Jobson.
The Freestyle u/11 relays were also very successful. The girls relay were given an excellent start by Molly Griffiths, Julia swam another pb time and passed over to Kym who improved her time by 1 second then Jade did a superb anchor leg to secure bronze with a 1 sec pb. The boys team all put in fine performances to follow their gold from earlier with a very creditable silver medal.
The boys 200m ind medley started well with Oskar performing a 12 second pb to get his 2nd individual bronze medal of the championship. Ed Williams swam superbly to get a huge pb and district consideration time. Harry swam his heart out to earn a silver medal. Then up stepped Marley to steal the show. He led his heat from start to finish. His huge pb earned him his age gold and junior championship bronze medal. Well done to Marley this was one of the best swims that I have seen in my time as Slough coach.
It is so pleasing to see the swimmers doing so well and behaving so well on poolside. Again a huge Thank you to Andy, Jane and Katarina for their hard work on pool deck
On this form I am really looking forward to training this week and more success next weekend at day 3.
